Many of the dogs that Cherisse was given to foster had various behavioral challenges including food aggression, alarm barking, and coprophagia, plus many of the dogs were puppy mill survivors and hoarding survivors which caused the dogs to be very fearful of humans, filled with anxiety, and somewhat feral. It was during her time as a foster mom for the Humane League of Lancaster that she became interested in pursuing a career in behavioral dog training, as opposed to obedience training. These Pack Walks are free of charge with no RSVP needed. In addition to the in-home training, all of our clients who complete the program are invited to attend frequent “Saturday Morning Zen Dog Pack Walks” at a local park in Lancaster, PA, to practice what they have learned during training in an area of many distractions. Our goal is to provide you with the tools and techniques that will elicit a calmer, more respectful puppy or adult dog.Īll of the training is done in your home working one-on-one with you and your puppy/dog which is usually where all of the unwanted behaviors occur in the first place. The team of trainers at The Zen Dog Den are behavioral experts that can help you if your dog is pulling on the leash, jumping up on people, excessively barking, counter-surfing, mouthing, exhibiting separation anxiety, attacking the vacuum cleaner, chewing up things in your house, or even if you have a puppy and you want to be proactive about preventing these aforementioned behaviors. Our program takes a behavioral, instinctual, and primal approach to working with dogs and puppies, and provides a relationship-based foundation for dogs and puppies to best bond with their owners.
